DIBS  (referred to as “DIBS”, “we”, “us” or “our”) operates a platform and community marketplace that helps people create, list and book parking spaces around the world, whether through our website or our mobile application.

Because Kerb Inc., (a Rhode Island company and the sole owner of DIBS, subsequently referred to as DIBS), wants to demonstrate its commitment to our users’ privacy, we have agreed to disclose our information practices to include:

  1. Key Terms and Definitions

DIBS provides an online platform that connects hosts who have parking spaces to list and rent out with guests seeking to book such parking. These services are accessible at www.ClaimDIBS.com and any other websites through which DIBS makes these services available and as applications for mobile, tablet and other smart devices and application program interfaces.

 

DIBS Content – means all Content that DIBS makes available through the website, application or its related promotional campaigns and official social media channels, including any Content licensed from a third party, but excluding Member Content.

Booking – means a limited license granted by the Host to the Guest to enter and use the parking space Listing for the limited duration.

Reserve – means arrange for to be kept for the future use by a Guest. Booking Request Periods may apply in different places.

Guest – means a Member who requests from a Host a Booking of a parking space Listing via the website or application, or a Member who stays at a parking space and is not the Host for the associated parking Listing.

Host – means a Member who creates a parking space Listing.

Listing – means parking space that is listed by a host as available for booking

Member – means a user who completes DIBS registration process, including but not limited to Host and Guests.

Member Content – means all content that Member posts, updates, publishes, submits, includes in their Listing.

 

  1. Information Collection and Use

Kerb Inc., (a Rhode Island corporation), is the sole owner of the information collected on www.ClaimDIBS.com. DIBS collects information from our users at several different points on our website.

 

  1. Registration

We request information from the user on our registration form. A user must provide contact information such as name, email etc. This information is used only by DIBS to contact the user. This information pertaining to a user is never shared or sold to any other organization.

 

  1. Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer tied to information about the user. [Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site.] We use [both] session ID cookies [and] persistent cookies. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates.

Like most standard website servers we use log files. On rare occasions it is necessary to send out a strictly service related announcement. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance we might send users an email. Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications, though they can deactivate their account. However, these communications are not promotional in nature. We do not use any outside shipping companies to ship orders, goods or any other “sold” items. Occasionally, promotional items will be shipped to clients. In these cases, there is no exchange of funds associated with the promotional items. The companies used to ship promotional items do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

If a user’s personally identifiable information changes or if a user no longer desires our service, we provide a way to correct, update or delete/deactivate users’ personally identifiable information. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.

If, however, we are going to use users’ personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users via email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. However, if users have opted out of all communication with the site, or deleted/deactivated their account, then they will not be contacted, nor will their personal information be used in this new manner

Ensuring secure data processing is a vital part of our commitment to honor your privacy. The DIBS site utilizes SSL (secure socket layers) and 256 bit encryption to protect your data. SSL is used in order to encrypt all data, so that it can’t be read while being transferred from your web browser to our Internet site. Access to our members section of our website can only be completed using a browser that supports SSL. All versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer starting with 2.0 support SSL. All versions of Netscape Navigator starting with 2.0 support SSL.

The Fair Credit Billing Act states that you cannot be held liable by your bank for more than $50.00 of fraudulent charges on your credit card. We are so confident in our security that if you are held liable for any part of the $50.00, we guarantee to cover that amount, up to the full $50.00. We will cover this liability only when fraudulent use of your credit card came as a result of transactions made at DIBS, through no fault of your own. You must contact and notify your credit card company immediately in the event of fraudulent use of your credit card, following their rules and procedures.
